Two rather different interpretations of the same flower

I went for a walk in some woods and came across the most amazing moss. I think it looks incredible in B&W, almost ethereal.

This could have been taken with a slightly wider lens really but I only had my trusty Fuji X10 with me so 28mm was as wide as it goes.

I don’t go to Holkham that often but this is the second week on the trot. And amazingly warm it was too for early March.

I think this is my favourite photo so far of a frost encrusted leaf. Proof that some ideas are worth pursuing until one is happy with the results.

An area that I’ve always loved is the woods behind Holkham beach. There’s something incredibly tranquil about the area and it very difficult to capture photographically. I guess it’s all about atmosphere and that doesn’t always come through in a photograph.
